Marrying “craft” to “cool” has become commonplace in the last decade. Blame it on the revival of nostalgic trends, the grandmother aesthetic or even Gen Z’s more recent obsession with craftcore. First popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s, crochet has officially made its comeback with designers and boutiques alike reinventing the classic technique and offering a fresh new take. In this atmosphere, the art world, too, has seen an uptick in the use of knitting and crocheting as a medium. But this is by no means a new phenomenon among artists.
Get your needles out, but if you don’t know how to, in this workshop series we will teach you.
Entrance fee is EUR 5 with prior registration. We will provide all materials (yarns, needles and bags), but feel free to bring your own materials! In August, we will crochet a bag in which to put a bottle of water or wine, a thermos of coffee or even a zucchini bought at the market.
Upcoming classes:

My aunt taught me to crochet a long time ago – in elementary school. As a child, I used to crochet doll clothes out of colourful plastic bags. In high school I got more into knitting. Crochet is enjoying a renaissance – beach bags, swimwear or even summer dresses, you can crochet anything!
