🟡 CHILDREN WILL MAKE A CHARCOAL DRAWING WITH KRISTA.

“Charcoal drawings are something in between sculpture and painting. The drawing is created by touching the surface of the canvas countless times: the charcoal is embedded in the ash ground until the layers cover it densely, creating a wire-like depth. Academic drawing is rich in tradition and layered with ideological and aesthetic meanings. In the context of contemporary art, it becomes a conversation with history and the tradition of drawing. The loose nature of charcoal is like the surface of a stone, full of light and full of chance. Let’s create space and space for intentional coincidences to emerge.”

🎨 Materials: watercolour paper, compressed charcoal, canvas, cotton towels, and hairspray.
