Join us on 17 August as we celebrate Riga’s birthday with a special programme of events at the Zuzeum Art Centre.

Throughout the day, The Zuzeum Art Centre and the research group La Méditerranée invite you to participate in a unique and enriching artistic experience. It is an opportunity to leave your mark and become part of the artistic narrative. We invite all visitors, regardless of age or creative skills, to contribute to this dynamic work by creating swallow nests that will be seamlessly integrated into the final artwork.
Materials are free of charge at the Clay Station; step-by-step instructions can be found at the same place. But don’t be afraid to improvise! If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff and mediators. Participating makes you an integral part of the central architecture – the Mooring Beacon. Your nest will join many others, symbolizing the collective effort and shared vision of our visitors. This collaborative artwork not only enhances the exhibition but also celebrates the power of comune creativity.
During the day, three guided tours of the Zuzeum exhibitions will be led by art mediators who will introduce you to the exhibited artworks and their authors. The tours are adapted to the needs and interests of different audiences, to appeal to both experienced connoisseurs and newcomers to the art world.
